Richmond Behavioral Health is now hiring for a great opportunity for a PT Clincian I/IIto join our team! The selected individuals will perform difficult professional work providing direct clinical service to individuals involving intake, assessing individual needs, developing treatment plans, providing prevention services, managing cases, providing therapy, maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the assigned supervisor.
Essential Functions
Performs intakes, individual assessments and diagnostic interviews; conducts mental health and substance use disorder assessments utilizing American Society of Addiction Medicine criteria, and makes recommendations for appropriate level of care using these criteria; monitors level of functioning.
Monitors and manages an assigned caseload.
Assists individual in identifying self-determined goals and jointly prepare individualized service plan.
Develops and facilitates psycho-educational groups; provides individual, family and group counseling; implements treatment plans; coordinates daily treatment schedule.
Coordinates case management services; coordinates and links individual to community resources and medical services; interfaces with other service providers and individual support system.
Provides crisis intervention and prevention services to individuals and families, is trained in opioid overdose reversal and is able to utilize naloxone to reverse opioid overdose.
Provides consultation, education and prevention services; provides drug and alcohol testing; conducts urine analysis.
Documents and charts information about individual assessment, diagnostic studies, individual service plans, progress notes, quarterly and annual reviews, discharge summaries and other individual related data, correspondence, medical records, etc., utilizing electronic health records and other data bases; prepares and submits reports as required.
Monitors and audits clinical and medical records and practices for compliance with regulatory, reimbursement and agency standards; reviews documentation for accuracy; assists with reviewing division policies and procedures.
Collaborates with medical staff and utilizes laboratory findings and diversion management to increase individual engagement and assessment appropriate level of care.
Represents individuals and Authority in court and legal proceedings.
Provides transportation assistance, as needed.
Serves on a variety of committees as directed; prepares and distributes agendas; attends and participates in a variety of meetings.
Attends professional conferences and trainings as required.
Supervises student interns as directed.

Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of providing care to individuals who may be emotionally disturbed, socially dysfunctional, behaviorally disordered, suffer from mental illness and/or substance use disorders (with a particular emphasis on opioid use disorders and the use of medication assisted treatment) and their families; thorough knowledge of community resources and human services network; thorough knowledge of community-based behavioral health principles and psychotherapeutic treatment techniques, especially engagement and motivational approaches; thorough knowledge of the theories and techniques of counseling and crisis intervention; thorough knowledge of intake techniques and procedures; ability to evaluate and assess individuals utilizing American Society of Addiction Medicine Criteria ; ability to prepare adequate records and to report findings and data effectively utilizing electronic health records and other data bases; ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility; ability to work as a team member and provide appropriate leadership; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, associates, community partners, medical personnel, law enforcement, State and Federal agency representatives and the general public.
Education and Experience
Master's degree with coursework in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field and considerable experience working with individuals with behavioral health disorders, in a behavioral health care setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Licensed Credentialed Addiction Treatment Professional - Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner required.
Special Requirements
License to practice as a mental health professional required. Acceptable licensure types include LCSW, LPC, LCP, LMFT, and LSATP.
CSAC, CADC, or certificate eligible.
Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
