Job Description:

Facilitates effective and clear communication between hearing and deaf/hard of hearing patients their families and Health System staff.

• Conducts medical and general interpreting and/or transliterating for deaf or hard of hearing staff patients and their families.
• Performs a variety of administrative tasks training and education within the Health System.
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.Position Compensation Range: $48.00 - $48.00 HourlyMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation: High school graduate or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Completion of accredited interpreter training program required.Experience: No experience required.Licensure: Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing VQAS performance assessment Level III (medical interpreter) or higher or similar certification from another state.PHYSICAL DEMANDSJob requires frequently traveling (distance: 1 mile).
