to learn!Job Summary and QualificationsAs our Joint & Spine
Surgical Coordinator, you will a Case Manager Registered Nurse
(RN), you will establish effective communication with physician
offices, hospital departments, staff, and rehabilitation services
to facilitate a smooth continuum of care for all joint
replacement/spinal fusion patients and families. In addition to
coordinating care with case management to anticipate high-risk
patient issues, you will also assist in implementing an efficient
discharge/rehab plan for joint replacement/spine patients. Other
responsibilities include:
- Developing education for orthopedic staff including treatment
protocols and orthopedic inservices
- Coordinating postoperative follow-up calls to patients and
responds to patient calls addressing any questions and
concerns
- Assuming responsibility for coordinating components for Disease
Specific Certification programs. Working with multidisciplinary
team members on performance improvement initiatives.
- Coordinating and providing total joint and spinal fusion
education classes for patients scheduled for a surgical procedure.
Completing nurse leader rounding.
- Participating and coordinating (with the marketing department)
community orthopedic educational programs presented by
physicians.
- Working cooperatively and communicating effectively with all
team members to ensure coordination of care and documentation of
services provided. What qualifications you will need:
- Minimum of two years experience working with joint & spine
patients required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required
- Education / instructor experience preferred
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- Licensed a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or
has a Compact license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification has provided quality
