Our mission-driven team seeks determined, resolute individuals who strive to innovate and go above the call of duty, and who will relentlessly do their part to help accelerate the shift to America's clean energy future.Job DescriptionApex Clean Energy is seeking an experienced Head of Construction Project Management to lead the construction and engineering teams for utility-scale wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) projects. The Head of Construction Project Management will be responsible for overseeing the entire construction management process, from pre-construction planning through execution and commissioning. This position requires a strong focus on managing both internal and external stakeholders, including EPC contractors, and ensuring seamless transitions from development to construction and ultimately to operations.Primary Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of project execution for utility-scale wind, solar, and BESS projects, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Oversee the construction management process, including pre-construction planning, engineering coordination, scheduling, and execution of renewable energy construction projects.
• Work closely with the other teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth handoffs from project development into construction.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including EPC contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure project success and compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize project execution processes and improve efficiency across all phases of construction.
• Oversee project controls, including cost management, risk assessment, and project reporting, to ensure timely communication of project progress and issues.
• Collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth project transitions and integration into the company's operational portfolio.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the construction and engineering teams, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and innovation.
• Lead strategic initiatives to enhance project delivery and operational efficiency, aligning departmental goals with overall company objectives.
• Manage the construction department budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and tracking of expenditures to meet financial targets.
• Engage in strategic stakeholder management, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate project success and organizational growth.
• Serve as a key member of Apex's leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making related to project execution and company growth.QualificationsTo succeed as a Head of Construction Project Management at Apex Clean Energy, you'll need to excel within the following criteria:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy project management, including wind, solar, and BESS projects.
  • Proven track record of leading complex construction projects from pre-construction through completion, with a focus on managing external contractors and ensuring stakeholder alignment.
  • Strong knowledge of EPC contracts, construction methodologies, and project controls.
  • Demonstrated history of leading successful strategic initiatives and finding opportunities for improved efficiency.
  • Ability to create and maintain successful internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large, multilayered teams, teams and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
